Loved our peaceful time at the cabin. We used the fireplace, and the ambience and warmth were perfect. The lack of cell phone or wifi made it even more relaxing. We hiked at Marshall Gulch, enjoyed some pizza and cookies from the Cookie Cabin, picked up some forgotten necessities at the General Store, and even bought some small Christmas gifts at the Palisades Visitor Center. We will be back!

The cabin is pretty much "equipped" with everything. All you need to bring is your food, beverages, toiletries &, bedding.

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin! It’s less secluded than some of the other forest services cabins but the location is very convenient and close to many hiking trails. We’ll definitely be back! The cabin was clean and well maintained and has a fenced yard. Firewood was provided but bring an ax.

We arrived late on the first night of a two night stay. A hand written note on the thermostat informed us that the furnace was broken. We were invited to use space heaters. It was extremely cold. We were not informed in advance of this problem. We were told this problem existed for at least two weeks.

The cabin kitchen is well equipped but the living room only has a futon & an uncomfortable plastic bench seat. No chairs or couch. The place is not t cleaned by a professional so you come into just how the last guest left it. In my case it was pretty clean, but a big bag of trash was left in the closet.
The bathroom is great and the bedroom is comfy enough. The yard is wonderful for friends & dogs. There were skunks under the house who made a lot of critter noise at night which drove my dog crazy. Left the bathroom fan on the next night and we couldn’t hear them. They were not around during the day at all so it wasn’t a problem. Hiked with my dog in the snow very often and came back to a cozy & warm cabin. I will return.
