What Guests Are Saying
Bonita Canyon Campground is praised for its beautiful setting, clean facilities, and well-maintained sites, making it a lovely and peaceful place to camp. Hikers enjoy the breathtaking views and trails nearby, and the campground's quiet atmosphere enhances the overall experience. However, it has limited space for large RVs, no cell service, and some sites can be quite close together, which may be a downside for some campers.

Small campground with easy access to Monument highlights. I recommend calling the Monument office ahead of camping trip as some sites have obstacles (trees, boulders) which could impact parking an RV or trailer safely. Tenters will have no problems. There are two cement wash crossings to maneuver. It’s a great location for day hikers to explore. Visitor Center staff are friendly and helpful.

The Campground itself is pretty great if you aren’t looking for frills and bells. Campsite are not geared toward any RV bigger than 20-24 feet. Parking space is small
But the sites themselves are big!!
If you want a wildlife experience to go along with your camping, Bonita is a great place for that with the Mexica Blue Jays, Deer and other wildlife come right up to your camp!
Your GPS will take you to the Ranger Maintenance building g so make sure you go pass the Visitor Center an 1/8th of a mile ish. I can be a little confusing.
The Chiricahua Park experience will exceed your expectations and has trails for all levels of hikers.
I highly recommend this campground!!

Very nice campground. Bathrooms are very clean, as well as grounds. The two hosts are great, and even provided free firewood!

Wonderful campground and beautiful National monument. We saw a band of over 30 Coati in the morning, which was such a treat! Highly recommend this camp ground and we look forward to returning.

Very nice park, with amazing hikes. Hard to understand though why in such a small campground there are 3 sites given over to "hosts" - which don't seem to actually do much. Worse are the very many low hanging branches. Our site description stated 14' clearance, but there were branches down to about 11 feet, and there are many more very low branches to pass through getting to the site itself. Its as though they just don't want anybody over 10 or 11 feet to camp there. We have a truck camper, no problem with length, but we wish we had known about all the branches. Oh, and very limited toilets.
