Nice campground, clean bathrooms, met nice people. Lot #3 not great, but I waited until the last minute to reserve so there wasn't much to pick from. Drive to campground and drive to Echo Canyon parking lot was great, hardly any traffic. Hiked 3.2 mile Echo Canyon Loop, beautiful, moderate - easy hike. Also walked nature trails in the area that were beautiful, lots of deer. I had loud neighbors with barking off leash dogs and what appeared to be too many vehicles. Park rangers spoke to, and second night they were quieter. If it weren't for loud neighbors, I would give 5 star.

The group site is fabulous! We had 16 students and 3 guides and the space suited our needs. Great tent pads, bear boxes and an awesome fire pit! Quiet, great wildlife, a wonderful place to stay. Will be back!

Site 1 was ideal. Not much room for parking if you're hauling a camper, but as a tenter it's a perfect location. If you're looking for solitude you should probably hit some of the dispersed camping in the NF, though this may have been one of the quietest fully booked campgrounds I've ever stayed at. The wildlife and views are amazing as well. We even had a group of over twenty coati stroll through our site on the second night! This was our second time in this campground and we'll definitely be back.

We highly anticipated our return to Bonita campground after some 15 years. Quite unfortunately, our site & a few feet from where we would place a tent absolutely stank from a diesel generator being run just feet away. We hung around a half hour, then left the location, - it was indeed that bad. Huge trailer certainly over 30 ft was the owners. We walked the entire camp, observing the stink spilled over to other sites. Also, many sites were roped off & not available, & we know this is because of nuisance bears, - usually with a cub or two, just like 15 years back. We wound up racing to a dispersed campsite some 25 or so miles away, & barely got there before full dark. Overall, - a miserable experience that we will be sure to never repeat.
