The noise of generators from RV campers completely ruined the "in nature" experience and ambiance of this otherwise lovely, clean campground in a wooded, secluded location.

We made a reservation and canceled it via email. When I realized the mistake, I called and was advised I needed to wait til after the date of the reservation , call back and request refund. I got turned down for my refund even though I had proof that I canceled it several days before the reservation date.

We have stayed at Dogtown a few times now and it is always a great experience. The hosts do an incredible job keeping the facilities and the spots clean and clear of any garbage. It was so refreshing to see all the green from all the rain that we've had recently and to enjoy the cooler weather! I highly suggest this campground. It's clean, the hosts are friendly, most of the spots you have enough space to feel as though you're not around a ton of people, the facilities are kept up nicely and well stocked with TP, PLUS you're within walking distance to the lake! What more could you want!?

Signage along the unimproved road was poor. Notification that the entire 13 mile access to the campsite was on an unimproved road not obvious in the campsite information. Other than that, it was a pleasant location.

It's a decent campground for families but if you're looking for peace, quiet and privacy this isn't it. Too many spaces too close together and trees are too far apart for even a hammock. Never saw the host and they were off duty when we wanted to buy firewood on a Tuesday afternoon. Beautiful lake and great weather though. Hiking trails nearby are nice.
