The roads were absolutely horrible. We took the short (?) way. It took us about an hour to go the 11 mi, after we all parked we started finding all the damage to our rv’s. Needless to say we took at least an hour and 1/2 coming back out. Some of our group took the 19 mi out!!!!! Poor them!!!

Campsites too close together.
Lower campground hosts very good.
Upper campground hosts good & helpful but cranky.

It's a beautiful campground... but that drive in on the dirt roads is brutal, extremely bumpy for no reason. Expect a 45 minute drive in with an RV going 10 mi per hour.

I prefer Whitehorse Campground and lake to dogtown but its farther away from Williams and farther on dirt roads. I suggest getting to it via the Garland Prairie exit instead of going through williams.

The water is lower but still enjoyable. Its a no body contact lake, which sucks. People fish here so watch for hooks.

The campsites are nice but away from the lake.

There's a $8 day use and $30 a night camping fee, with a $15 for extra vehicle charge (ridiculous).

Surprisingly clean bathrooms for tent campers, which was a great bonus. The entire campground was well-maintained, and the staff at check‑in were courteous and welcoming. Setting up was simple, the layout was easy to navigate, and we had quick access to the lake for fishing. It was also super easy to find our friends in nearby sites. I’d definitely come back again.

Sites are clean and the hosts were friendly. On weekdays the campgrounds had a few campers and fishing was great. Would like if the bathrooms closest to the lake were open and we missed the food trailer for our daily ice cream. This campground is a great way to get away.
