About Dogtown Lake Campground and Group

Dogtown Lake offers a scenic setting convenient to Grand Canyon National Park and the cities of Williams and Flagstaff, Arizona. The campground is situated in a pine forest along the shore of a small and scenic lake. Visitors come here to hike, fish, mountain bike and explore the area's cultural and natural history. It's also a great place to relax and enjoy the sound of the wind in the pines and the spectacular view of nearby Bill Williams Mountain.

I really enjoyed my stay. Campsites are nicely spaced and in close proximity to the restrooms that also have spigots to replenish drinking water. I would have given five stars if there were dump stations onsite. Should I return to Dogtown Lake Campgrounds, next time I will bypass making a reservation and just select from Open sites upon my arrival. I did not find the online system to be user friendly when booking and forget about making any changes once your stay commences should you wish to move to another available site. I found sites online that showed Reservation required that had Open signs on them at Dogtown. My thanks to Lisa the Camp Host for her assistance and hospitality.

Awesome!! Twice a year. Around Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Rain or shine Dogtown Lake never disappoints. Easy online app reservation. Reasonable fees. Friendly, helpful staff. Great place to pop the tent or camper. Throw local logs in the pit and get a hook wet. Rainbow trout and Bass are always biting. Some Brown trout too. If watching Bald Eagles soaring around and grabbing fish all day isn’t your thing, maybe the presence of a paranormal energy is? Nothing dangerous but don’t try to ignore the experience. Williams AZ has something to offer every family member on the way to the lake or on the way out. Love it!! Enjoy.

We found Dog Town Lake group area is a perfect place for our annual family reunion. This is our second year. There’s plenty to do, hiking, fishing & boating.

My only complaint was the restrooms, they weren’t cleaned daily as in past years. The camp host did keep the toilet paper stocked, mopped daily but they needed to clean the toilet area (seat and base).

General

This is a high elevation facility; use caution when traveling from lower elevations
Standard Single Family sites: Recreation Use Fee allows ONE camping unit ONLY. Double & Group sites: refer to Specific Site # for capacity limits.
Extra Vehicles: Cannot be paid for in advance - upon arrival coordinate with the host for payment and where to park.
Late Arrivals: campers are not considered a "no-show" until 24 hours after arrival date check in time. Our policy is that your site will not be released before that.
FIRST COME FIRST SERVE sites must be booked in person. DO NOT call to determine availability, as they are only available on-site.
No utility hookups.
