About Dogtown Lake Campground and Group

Dogtown Lake offers a scenic setting convenient to Grand Canyon National Park and the cities of Williams and Flagstaff, Arizona. The campground is situated in a pine forest along the shore of a small and scenic lake. Visitors come here to hike, fish, mountain bike and explore the area's cultural and natural history. It's also a great place to relax and enjoy the sound of the wind in the pines and the spectacular view of nearby Bill Williams Mountain.

We had a amazing time camping at Dogtown. The staff was very friendly, everything was clean, and the lake was a nice feature. My only complaint was the train horns all throughout the night, which obviously the campground can't change.

Nice large camp sites, lots of pull throughs. Clean camps and bathrooms. Bearizona is very close in Williams. You can hear the trains regularly. Only problem is the camp 2 sites down. They let their dogs run free for 2 days and yelled at them all day and night when they would run into the forest and through other camp sites, including ours. Would have been a great trip otherwise. Yelling was not the camp sounds I went for.

Nice campground but the requirement to use the dumpsters at the entrance over the trash receptacles placed around the campground is a bit frustrating. The pit toilets are clean and well maintained. The lake was low and a bit murky because of the recent rain but overall, a nice place to camp.

The older couple who were hosts when we arrived were fantastic. They let us know where things were a d whether we could do certain things very cordially! They were constantly riding around doing stuff and asking us if all was ok! Very pleasant! Campgrounds were clean as were the bathrooms! We had a pleasant experience and will likely be back again.

Another great time at Dogtown Lake. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always great. Clean restrooms, access to drinking water and large campsites to house our large family together! Can’t wait to come back.

General

This is a high elevation facility; use caution when traveling from lower elevations
Standard Single Family sites: Recreation Use Fee allows ONE camping unit ONLY. Double & Group sites: refer to Specific Site # for capacity limits.
Extra Vehicles: Cannot be paid for in advance - upon arrival coordinate with the host for payment and where to park.
Late Arrivals: campers are not considered a "no-show" until 24 hours after arrival date check in time. Our policy is that your site will not be released before that.
FIRST COME FIRST SERVE sites must be booked in person. DO NOT call to determine availability, as they are only available on-site.
No utility hookups.
