We did not enjoy our stay here at all. Every time we stepped out of the camper we had to catch ourselves so that we didn't roll down the hill. Trees was down everywhere causing the swim area to be closed. It seemed like our campsite was the place all the drunks wanted to gather all day and night long. I don't mind folks drinking but in a time of COVID 19 I did not appreciate them coming into our site and getting in our faces with their "let me introduce my name" and having to take my chairs because they could not stand up.

Wonderful campground hosts. Terrific swim beach. Looks like a nice boat ramp. Looks like they had trees come down in a storm, so you see piles of cut trees everywhere as they try to clean up. The showers in the camper sites has absolutely the best water pressure. I could actually wash my hair! lol.
I stayed at campground #8 with a tent. The ones near the lake for tents are a wee bit close for my taste, but can't that's all I could complain about. I'm so glad we found this gem.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Site were clean.
I wish Vicksburg District would put just a little bit of money in camp-ground improvements. Pavement at campsites, as well as tent pads are crumbling. I don't think the restroom facilities have ever been updated since the 70's.
I live in Arkadelphia, and see the tons of visitors coming to our area to camp at DeGray Lake. I know power generation and flood control are the two main missions of the Vicksburg District. But it's a shame the condition of the Corp campsites, especially when compared to the State Park facilities, are so neglected.
I do like the recreation.gov website. It makes planning and reserving very easy. Thank you!

Rain was a bit too much, not in their control, and the downed trees I wish they could have mentioned, the place looked similar to a logging yard. They have ONE shower facility and it's in the RV campsites (don't most RVs have a shower?) Restroom facilities WERE HORRID! all three days. Covid 19 compliment? Seriously doubt it! It was the 4th of July. But I am NEVER going to that campsite again! Would not recommend!
