The area is beautiful, but the second day the ants arrived. I even moved sites, but to no avail. Still finding ants in my van 2weeks later.

I traveled with a Van and An SUV/pop-up.
We stayed at sites 68 and 69 , for a week with my America The Beautiful Pass. Both my van and pop up measured between 15 and 20 feet. There was not a great place to park the spare SUV with the pop-up fully extended. Closer to the showers and restroom are larger, more level sites.
I did find it difficult to switch from site 69 to site 60 on my Apple phone. I was there during the eclipse, so it could’ve been the
connection.
A beautiful wooded peninsula, very quiet, helpful employees/contractors/rangers.
Water gets very hot quickly…. But once I understood that I had a fabulous shower!!!!
Believe it or not, we had a hard time actually finding Iron Mountain Campground, let alone the correct reserved site in the dark, with no one there. It results in setting up in the dark on the wrong site! Oops.
I didn’t have any problem booking a site two months in advance. But this was also during the rainy season there. The Damn is beautiful. The Crater of diamonds, will bring me back… Plumb Bayou archaeological state park was a great time to stretch your legs.
Bring glass jars to Hot Springs and refill at the warm artesian well. I was told by a local, the hot one has more minerals? Due to circumstances, I did end up taking home the cold. And I love it just as well.
Boat launch is nearby.
Kept very clean, fast garbage removal.
Close to the lodge and Caddo Village.
Arkadelphia has all one needs.
Tire problem? Go Big Fabrication at 1398 AR 7 Bismarck. They were great!

Great campsite! We were able to stay here and view the 2024 eclipse with clear skies! Other reviews talk about ant and bug problems. There were plenty of ants and a lot of beetles. Having said that, this is a forest, these creatures are to be expected. This is not a manicured camp site. We absolutely enjoyed this campground.

This is by far one of the best sites in the campground. There is a decent path down to the lake at the rear of the site. It was like having our own private beach!

Pretty, but flooded with light from the street light outside the bathroom. I understand you have to see, but do better ACOE. Campers were loud, coming in at almost midnight. Dogs barking, music playing. Ugh. Also, fire pit for the site next door is directly behind our parking spot. Weird layout and sooo much light! Restrooms were clean except for all the dead bugs which must have been drawn by the blinding light. The bug killer they use must be super toxic because bugs didn’t live more than a couple of minutes. It made me worry about what I was breathing.
