We arrived Friday evening. Arose early Saturday morning to enjoy coffee and watch the sunrise. It is an absolutely beautiful location. Immediately ants started crawling all over us. We went into the trailer and they were all in the inside. Even in our bed. Fortunately, we had some insect spray and it helped to keep them under control for a short while. The other campers also had the same problem and were having to pack up and leave. The tent campers had to sleep in their cars. The shower house had millions of ants swarming the concrete entryway. The gatekeeper was well aware of the problem but did not share it upon checkin. We were completely infested again on Sunday and decided to just go home. We are very disappointed and feel a refund is in order. This campground should be closed until the ant problem is under control.

This is a beautiful location. Unfortunately none of the sites we found were level enough for our 28’ trailer. When we finally picked a site, the 30 amp outlet caused our circuit breaker to blow, which took out all of the 110 outlets in the front of our trailer and caused issues with our refrigerator.
The bathrooms were clean & nice.

This campground was a godsend compared to where we stayed the night before. AT&T had decent service at site 15 got 2-3 bars outside the trailer. Showers were clean. Very nice place to stay.

The area is beautiful and well shaded. The lake is wonderful. The campsites need some improvement and it was hard to get our RV level, but that wasn’t a major issue for me. The ants were horrific. Thousands of them invaded the RV and covered every visible surface outside. This happened to every camper we spoke to. They even invaded our boat while we had it tied to the shore. We spent many hours trying to keep them at bay. I would love to return to this campground but won’t unless the ant situation changes.

General
- During the Non-Peak season certain campsites and loops will be closed. Reservations longer than 14 days will require an approved extension. Extensions can be obtained from a ranger, or the information board located at the entrance of campground.
- Camping at one or more campsites at any one water resource project for a period longer than 14 days during any 30 consecutive day period is prohibited without the written permission of the District Commander.
- If arriving more than 24 hours after the start of your reservation, call (870) 246-5501 or your reservation will be cancelled and a $20 no-show fee plus the cost of the first night's stay will be charged.
- Sanitation, No dumping of household trash, gray water, rubbish, black water or any other waste material or waste liquid. All waste generated must be disposed of at the dump station or removed from the project lands.
- Quiet hours are between;
- Daily occupancy is required.
- No off-road vehicles permitted.
- One tent and one RV or two tents are allowed per campsite.
- All pets must be penned, caged or on a 6 foot leash at all times, No Exceptions!!!
- Persons bringing animals onto project lands are responsible for the proper removal and disposal of any waste produced by these animals.
- Fireworks prohibited in campground
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
