This is such a lovely spot but our arrival was marred by our campsite being full of trash. We filled a large, black trash bag ⅓ full with debris left in the fire ring and around the site. Our “haul” included two foot long dead catfish, source of the malodorous welcome we received. We did not check in early so don’t know the reason for cleanup neglect. Sad that previous site users were such pigs.

I only stopped for one night, passing through Arkansas. Beautiful mixed woodlands. However, I couldn’t fit my 25 foot trailer and pickup in the reserved site. Luckily 75 percent of the sites were open on this Monday evening. Still, I didn’t find more than a couple of sites that were deep enough and reasonably level for a camper with an entry door to the rear. First Corp campground I have seen that desperately needs upgrades

This was a much quieter camping area than other campgrounds on this lake. The camp sites were generous, but not all of them had tent sites and/or had very rocky, uneven ground for tents. The bathrooms were fine, but not always clean and there is no soap. The price was much better than a state park. We didn't have our own water source and had to travel to the bathroom for water, but since we had a site close, it wasn't that big of a deal. Most sites you could see the lake through the trees.
