My experience was very good considering. I noticed that the grill on site number 31 was missing and that the fish cleaning station at the boat ramp was not replaced. Some would say that campers bring their own grills but I can assure you that is not the case. They need to replace both the grill and the fish cleaning station. I noticed that they are planning on building a new restroom with showers up near the playground area where camp sites are located. This will be very useful and appreciated.

I took a trip to Mississippi and wanted to sleep soundly. I had to create an account online to reserve and pay for a campsite. I only needed a primitive site with electricity and a water spigot which costs only $18.00. It was spot #34, not clearly marked iwth a numbered post like the spots for RVs so it was difficullt to find in the dark. I had to use the map to find the spot since it was not in line with the other spots. This was confusing as it was on the other side of #38 and did not look like a spot at all!
I confirmed the spot with the #34 on the concrete picnic table. I parked my mini-van over the foliage covered ground, a spot seemingly not used much and I did not see any tents anywhere in this campground. I only saw trailers in the sites of long time "campers" that had decorated their areas with Halloween items. Some also had their boats on trailers.
Luckily for me my site was very close to the Shower House, so I had a restroom very close by. The restroom was fairly clean but I did not inspect the shower.
Oak Grove was a nice secluded area with plenty of trees but close to a main road where you possibly heard a vehicle drive by once in awhile over the evening. I only spent one evening there arriving in the evening and leaving before twilight. The insects did not seem to be plentiful but there were some mosquitoes that I did see.
Overall it was a decent campground right by a nice large lake and I could stay there again if I wanted to spend more time there.

I was at site #31 and it has no grill. I had to use the one on site #29, which fortunately had no campers on it. I don't know why there is no grill at this particular site but I am not the only one who finds this to be an issue. With the upcoming eclipse, and such, along with obvious other reasons this issue needs to be resolved. There is no reason for this situation to exist.

Beautiful lake and trees, but the place is deteriorating severely. Showers did not work in the main campground pavement is collapsing at places placeholders at campsites are rotting out, and electricity is iffy
