This was our first time camping at Hickory Creek. We liked our campsite, next to the water. We did not use the bathhouse, but did check it out and though small, it was clean. Our neighbors were not too close and the fact that it is a small campground and well spread out made it enjoyable. We were glad we were not camped next to the site that on Thursday night had light up and lots of people. The one thing that is needed is the signs on Cow Face road and the entry signs both are extremely faded and we missed the turn off to the entry because it was blocked by trees.

I scored a great site on the water, #24, which had plenty of space. Verizon cell service was fair, my video conferencing call was interrupted, hot spot slow.

The park is clean and staff is friendly. However, the park lacks any primitive camping for people such as myself who prefer to sleep in hammocks or tents. Noise and lights from all the rvs are bound to keep a man up all night.

This is one of the best kept COE campgrounds that we have stayed at. We also appreciated the park ranger/security riding around at various times to check on everyone. We will definitely stay there again!

Only one bath and shower for the park.
Long lines to shower in the evenings.

The campsites around us were located a comfortable distance apart, giving us privacy and cutting down on noise from our neighbors. Overall the park was clean and well maintained. We were pleased with the condition of the restroom/shower building.
There were dozens and dozens of spots where the droppings of small dogs had been left on the ground of our campsite. They were especially heavy in the grassy area where the tent had to be set up.
Also, there was no cover over the picnic table. Some sites had one and others did not.
I also
Missed having a park attendant of whom I could inquire to get information about the area. It was our first time to camp in Hickory Creek and it would have been nice to be able to ask someone w where to get bait, the best spots to fish this time of year, and what to fish for.
