What Guests Are Saying
Cherokee Park is a well-maintained, peaceful campground by the Arkansas River, offering spacious sites and a friendly host. Visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, opportunities for birdwatching, and enjoyable river views, making it a great spot for family time and relaxation. Some minor issues include the need for grass cutting, bathroom updates, and occasional pest concerns, but overall, guests have had positive experiences and highly recommend the park.

We enjoy visiting Cherokee Park. The camp sites are always prepared for visitors. We meet new people from other cities/states. Most of all we enjoy our quality time together.

It’s a nice park and I have always had a good experience there. The only problem is it closes at the end of October. I’ve talked to a lot of people that would camp there in the winter if it was open.

The grass was high. There were several wasp nests under the pavilion. We had to watch the kids closely because the wasps were everywhere

The camp ground was nice and quite. The only small. Complaint that I have is the bathrooms could have been cleaner.

We always enjoy staying at Cherokee, watching the barges move up and down the river! The river was up so river traffic was low, but we still love watching the river go by. Campsites are nicely spaced apart, and the area is peaceful, perfect place to get away and observe nature! Bathrooms are clean, could use some updating.
Highly recommend!!

What a peaceful place to stay! I couldn’t find a spot for the Fourth of July anywhere but here. I was skeptical because not many sites were occupied but it ended up being my favorite so far. Only bad part is there is no swimming are because of the undertow of the river. It has many shaded spots that help keep the temps down in the camper.

Nice campground. Clean & well kept. The only negative it’s the dump station entrance needs to be leveled out. Our unit will severely drag bottom getting in there so we aren’t able to use it.
