Camp Joplin offers a relaxing and beautiful camping experience with spacious sites, convenient amenities like clean showers, and stunning views of the lake, making it a popular choice for visitors. Many campers appreciated the helpful hosts and well-maintained facilities, enhancing their stay. However, some guests reported issues with ants and noise from the sewer area, which could detract from the experience for a few. Overall, most would recommend returning to this lovely location.

Lake Ouachita is always a wonderfully relaxing adventure! Camp Joplin was just what we needed. Secluded enough but still had amenities like showers and electricity, such luxuries when camping. The hosts were helpful with an extension cord when my friend power didn't work. Would go back!

After a 15 hour drive day,,,, the camp was closed. There was no note on voicemail or website. I tried calling 4 days prior to change arrival date and NEVER got an answer or call back. The Ranger at the state park said they were closed. VERY frustrating. will never book here again. The Lake Ouchita state park however, we wonderful for the 1 night.

Our weekend at Joplin was great! Site 9 is a drive-thru and the site is SO spacious and beautiful. We had deer, ducks and geese that came thru our campsite. Also, the sunrise on the lake is breath taking.

We enjoyed our stay there during October. A relatively quiet campground, but no campground host to keep facilities cleaned up. My biggest issue with our spot was the noise from the sewer/waste water area within the campground. Sounded like an industrial air compressor that would kick on and off and run for long periods of time. It was very annoying. In some areas of the campground it is less intrusive. I would come back to this place, but I would be more selective of my site knowing about that noise.

We were at loop A site #6 at Joplin Campground. A beautiful site! But, we were lower than the other 3 sites on that peninsula and when it rained all day the third day there, the water pooled just below us and our rear stabilizers and unknowingly had ants come into our camper that we are still fighting here at home. When I told the park ranger on the last day there and the closing of the park weekend, she said “yeah they knew about the ants and she recommended everyone to bring bug spray! We made a run to Hot Spring Walmart but the better treatment would be to put down some ant granules in the off season to see if you can get rid of them permanently out of the soil. I would love to come back but this has been quite an ordeal trying to get rid of them… in the bathroom, in the refrigerator, in the food pantry in the closets and on the kitchen counter tops! We love your area but really.

Beautiful area! The campground was not very busy this time of year so plenty of sites to choose from right on the lake. Well maitained. The showerhouse was still open for use. There were many hiking trails within a short drive. We'd be happy to stay again
