Extra nice area for sure. Nothing at the Grand Lake of the Cherokees is nice, kept up or repaired. Everything at Tompkins Bend was immaculate. Beautiful campground and surroundings. Well kept and clean. It's obvious Arkansas allocates their funding appropriately to allow their guests to fully enjoy their outdoor experience. Too bad Oklahoma can't do the same.

A9 is a great camping spot! Great views of the lake, quiet surroundings and easy access. Good level pad.
There are trees in the way of extending an awning but it’s shaded. Within walking distance to the bathhouse and restrooms.

It was a great campground. There seems to be plenty of trees for shade when it gets hot (though we went when it was cool and there were no leaves) the spots are not on top of each other especially if you pay attention to the map placement - and during our visit it was quiet and peaceful. The bathrooms were clean, we were very impressed. The water of the lake was great/seemed clean, the shores by our campground were excellent, clear and easy to get to the water. We wished we brought kayaks. Also close by entrances to the hiking trails which were super fun and gentle enough for kids. Overall a great visit, I would come back in a heartbeat.

We reserved spots 44, 45 and 46. These are right in the cove and tent only spots. It was a perfect spot for our big group of 10. Walking distance to each bathroom. The bathrooms and showers were real clean and the water was hot. Quiet at night. We also ate at the cafe nearby. Would camp here again.
