We always enjoy our stay at the lake. It was early spring and we were one of the few there. We also love to go to the shangri-La restaurant!

Stayed one night in early March and was mostly empty and very quiet. Clean bathhouses and tidy sites.

It was relaxing and quiet. The large variety of birds provided much entertainment.

My daughter had her backpack stolen and there was no one to report it to. I wrote it on the back of the card when we left. Several hundred dollars worth of stuff was in her backpack and she is heartbroken and I'm heartbroken because of her and some stuff I lost in her backpack. My rock hammer my now deceased mom bought me over 31 years ago and my hori hori and hand pruners I've had for 22 years and my hunting knife I've had for 12 years from a now deceased friend. Jewelry from her boyfriend when he went out of town. Her boyfriend was with us and we were so upset we left early. Stayed one night. I will never be back to this campsite.

Park is great, but needs to be updated for the modern bigger rigs. There are some trees that are to close to the camper pads causing damage to campers when backing in or opening slides. To make matters worse, they are listed to accommodate 45ft rigs. Maybe the pad is that long once you’re in it.
Crystal Springs did a great job making there sights more modern rig friendly.
Also the dump station was in bad repair.

Tompkins Bend is the best campsites on Lake Ouachita. The Host's are friendly and always willing to lend a hand , if needed. If you haven't camper there, you're missing out.
