What Guests Are Saying
Joplin Campground offers stunning views, ample space, and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a great choice for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained with helpful staff, there is a recurring issue with ants and some uneven terrain that could be challenging for larger RVs. Overall, visitors appreciate the scenic beauty and facilities, although some suggest improvements in pest control and road conditions.

Perfect spot for kids. Nice personal private water access with a personal private beach. It is right across from the docks, but the kids and us loved watching the different boats coming in and out. Calm water and not far from the bathrooms. You will need a long extension cord as the power outlet pole is VERY FAR from the flat spots that accommodate a tent.

This place was all around beautiful and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the beach for swimming. It was nice and sandy. The bathrooms where also clean. We cant wait to visit again.

Parking parallel on the road is slanted unless you drive down the steep gravelly hill to the site. In a sedan driving into the site would not feel comfortable. Flat enough for an individual tent but anything larger will be sloped. During thunderstorms, extreme wind picks up on the lake and blew some objects never to be seen again. The views from this spot make it worth it though.

Beautiful spot. Bathrooms are old but seemed to be kept clean during our stay.

Campground was fantastic. Site had electric and water hook up. Our site was on the water. Camp host was very helpful. Only negative was there were a lot of ants. Camp host gave us his ant killer. So nice. Went into town to replace what we used. First time at an ACOE and cant wait for our next time.

The campsite was ate up with ants and our neighbors had a bunch of people come camp with them and set up multiple tents around where we were, we ended up leaving after 1 night even though we booked and paid for 2 nights. We will not be back to camp again.

Lake Ouachita is always a wonderfully relaxing adventure! Camp Joplin was just what we needed. Secluded enough but still had amenities like showers and electricity, such luxuries when camping. The hosts were helpful with an extension cord when my friend power didn't work. Would go back!

After a 15 hour drive day,,,, the camp was closed. There was no note on voicemail or website. I tried calling 4 days prior to change arrival date and NEVER got an answer or call back. The Ranger at the state park said they were closed. VERY frustrating. will never book here again. The Lake Ouchita state park however, we wonderful for the 1 night.
