What Guests Are Saying
Joplin Campground offers stunning views, ample space, and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a great choice for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained with helpful staff, there is a recurring issue with ants and some uneven terrain that could be challenging for larger RVs. Overall, visitors appreciate the scenic beauty and facilities, although some suggest improvements in pest control and road conditions.

Very enjoyable campsite #26 the week of July 4th. Not crowded and as long as your campsite is one of the spots improved by the COE about 5 years ago it's great. They still have multiple spots that are not level (or anywhere close) and while all have electric, many do not have water access or must share with a neighbor via hose splitter. Oh and we had very low water pressure that week

The location and views are amazing. The nearby crystal shops and trails are some of the best! The park rangers and host were very helpful when our antique Vanagon couldn’t handle the slanted campsite we booked and they moved us with no issue! The only thing I would complain about is the nonstop bombardment by ants anywhere on the peninsula. They weren’t aggressive, but they invaded every little nook and space they could crawl into, we are still finding them in the VW despite all efforts.
Definitely book an RV or camper space if you’re worried about staying level!

Helpful host, rangers patrolling a few times a day, a bit of an ant problem- but we came when it was very dry. Pretty campground, beautiful lake. Old bathhouses, but fairly clean. Lots of bugs inside though. 😂

Great campground. It's a beautiful place. The lake is so clear. Our spot was set up perfect. Power and level gravel was nice. Bring ant poison. We had black, sugar ants crawling around in our tent all night. Highly recommend this place.

Great spot. Good view. Slight drop on the right hand side but easy to level.

Our spot was great two things to bring up. They need to mow and weedy the property and do some ant control. Other than that. We had a great stay.

Probably our favorite spot in Joplin. Little to no traffic. Incredible views. Very nice if you have kids or a dog because there is easy water access. We were able to park our boat right there on the bank.
