Our site was spacious, level, and clean. Good view of the lake. The bathrooms and showers were adequate with very quick hot water. Our only complaint was that the bathrooms were very hot with a lot of flying insects.
Overall a good site! Would return.

The campground electrical system is subpar. The voltage and amperage at many of the sites is insufficient to run larger units. The Corp is aware of this issue but has failed to address it. I have written them several times over the course of several years. They say is is a power company issue; yeat they have not made the power company correct it is that is even the reason. We have had to move from some sites to get out RV to have reliable power.

Pretty much the same as before , no issues with campers or the grid that we rely on . Water pressure at the faucet is right at 40 lb -

Wonderful campsites. Trash bins being moved out of the camping area was a bit of a hassle though.

Overall Lake Ouachita is the most beautiful lake. My husband and I Love to fish and just enjoy the nature and the beauty there. However, you are only allowed 14 day per person in a months time to stay at a camp site. (Summer time hours, which we didn't know there was a summer and winter season.) So I scheduled 14 days at Thompkins bend and my husband scheduled 14 days. Now remember the Recreation.gov allowed us to book these times online. Unfortunately when our 2nd 14 days at Tompkins Bend came around the ranger made us leave because he or she said we over exceeded our time. Ranger said it didn't matter who scheduled the time but that our camper couldn't be there more then 14 days in a month. So even if a person barrowed our camper (not related to us) different accounts set up a reservation they wouldn't be able to stay at that campground but could stay at another campground. It is all the Corp. of Engineers areas so why should it matter if we stayed there longer or not. The campground had very little people there and there were a lot of available spots that we could have moved to and the ranger said no we have to leave the campgrounds. So instead of the Corp. of Engineer making money on a empty campground they would rather refund our money and not make anything. Doesn't make a lot of since to us. The campgrounds are all the Corp. of Engineer. It was a good thing we were local and could go home because if we were out of state that could have been difficult to have moved our camper especially when the online service allowed us to book the reservation. The Recreation.gov need to fix the system from this happening to other people. We will go back to Lake Ouachita because it is the most beautiful lake and we love fishing there. But for others reserving know it doesn't matter how many accounts you have you can only keep the camper there for 14 day in the summer time. Which was the end of September and summer was over. Thanks
