First off, booking was extremely difficult. The website was NOT user friendly. Upon arriving at the campground we found that the map was off. We thought sites 7&5 were near the showers but we were very wrong. It was a good hike. The camp ground it’s self was clean and nice but obviously not designed by a camper.
We were in the “lower section” and if you missed the turn coming in (which we did bc the map was incorrect) you were just screwed bc you could not make the turn back into that section unless you made a 3 mile drive to find somewhere to turn around. When we got in the park and found ourselves lost there was NO ONE in site to help or ask questions! Stressed was an understatement.
We called the number listed for the park the day before arriving a number of times but it just went to a voice mail. There were ‘directions’ to the park but not a physical address for a GPS even though a longitude and latitude coordinates was given to those who knew how to use that feature that was a little used to us. A simple address would have been really helpful or a returned call which we never got. Much less a number that was actually answered for all those lost campers like us that needed help but couldn't find it when we arrived. That made arriving stressful bc we searched the address using google and hoped that we were right.
Then as we were leaving we had to pull out of the park then back all the way back just so we could empty our tanks.
It was listed that golf carts and off road vehicles were not allowed however someone brought a razor UTV and rode around which made it somewhat unpleasant and they were seemingly never addressed.
Over all the arriving and leaving was the worse part. We did enjoy our stay while we were there but I do hope these concerns/comments will lead to some improvements. Especially having someone to simply answer the phones.

We enjoyed our stay. Saw some wild life. We were there to relax and check out some other sights. We’ll add it to our list to revisit

This was our first visit but definitely won’t be the last. Great views of the lake from just about every site. Very quiet and restrooms/showers were well kept. Has nice swim area although it was too cold when we were there for that. Nice having a boat launch there but is also very close to the Swa Ha Lodge marina if you need to rent fishing boat or party barge. Also close to river for fly fishing and Murpheesboro is only 15 minutes away if you need a grocery store.

Our favorite place to camp. Especially in early spring and fall when it is less crowded and more peaceful.
