My family and I go to shoal bay almost every weekend. Wonderful place to camp, we love the location, easy boat ramp access and the beautiful sunsets.

This is our 18th year that we have camped on Memorial Day weekend at Shoul bay. It’s become quite the family reunion. Love the campgrounds, the lake, and the people associated with the park. Great place to stay and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Our family and a group of friends began camping at Shoal Bay around 40 years ago. We camped in tents back then and generally occupied all the sites surrounding the playground. Our kids were small, the fishing was good and basically everything we needed or wanted was available right there at the campground. The store had bait, supplies, gas from the dock, games, and covered bays to park your boat. We loved it!
The store is no longer in the park, no covered boat storage on the water, etc. However, a store is nearby with all you need or desire, The Dinner Bucket restaurant is great, and our camping group from Van Buren First Assembly of God has grown. It is a great, well maintained campground.

Very clean and well kept grounds. The site had a big grassy area for activities. This site only has 30 amp rv hook up water is across the street and shared with other campers which was mentioned in the details of the site. We will definitely be returning and enjoying the relaxing nature. Also check out The Bucket which is just a short drive back out to the highway, excellent food and prices.

Bathroom by the play ground was very dirty. A lot of loud music after 11 pm on Saturday. When I went to turn water off, I had to get channel locks just to get it turned off so I could unhook my fresh water hose

Nice campground, all campsites and roads easily marked to find unassisted, camp host met us as we were getting set up. He checked us in and made sure to ask if we had any questions. Only has 30amp at most of the sites, which was adequate for our needs. All sites have a fire ring with fold over grill attached. Dump station is located at front gate area. It was a Saturday night so there were a few campers in the area having some music and singing around their firepit but that was quieted down at a reasonable hour. Lots of good fishing spots and wonderful hiking trail up to bridge rock. Definitely coming back.
