"Aux Arc" is a name that originated with French explorers when they mapped the territory. The term means "the big bend," describing the bend in the Arkansas River. Over time, the name was simplified to "Ozark," thus the name for Ozark Lake.

We've stayed here several times. In fact, my sister and brother-in-law used to be the park attendants. The mosquitos were pretty bad so there wasn't a whole lot of opportunity to be outside with the heat and them. The spot could have been just a little cleaner.

This campsite is absolutely beautiful—nestled in a peaceful, scenic spot that offers a perfect escape into nature. The site is conveniently close to the bathrooms and warm showers, which are clean and well-maintained, making for a comfortable stay. However, be aware that there are "guard dogs" on the property that roam freely after 8pm. If you're heading to the bathroom at night, know that the dogs may approach you and will not be called off, which can feel intimidating. Keep this in mind if you're uneasy around aggressive, unsupervised animals.

If you have an anticipated attendance of 100 or more persons 3. An extraordinary impact on project resources is expected 4. Corps personnel provide additional patrols, surveillance, refuse collection, and/or crowd control 5. Event involves the use of concession tents and/or vendors 6.
