What Guests Are Saying
Cove Lake Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful scenery, well-kept facilities, and friendly hosts, making it a highly enjoyable camping destination. Many visitors appreciate the quiet, secluded spots and the opportunity for outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking. However, some recent reviews noted issues with cleanliness in certain restroom facilities and the locking of shower facilities late in the season, which led to some disappointment.

The showers were wonderful- clean and well ventilated. Dogs are not allowed on the beach but are allowed on a leash on the nearby grassy area so we still all able to enjoy the lake together. Our campsite (#10) was spacious and the view was beautiful. Our neighbors (the wildlife) were very noisy at night- I recommend noise protection if you are a light sleeper because some of those critters just don't follow quiet hours!

Shady tent camping lots are near the lake. Each lot has a fire pit, grill, and picnic table. Warm showers at the recreation center are refreshing.

This is a beautiful park. Campsites are well spaced. Clean bathrooms. You will likely have zero cell service so keep this in mind.
I thought I was there early enough in mid April to avoid ticks, but was not. After finding a tick on me and three on my dog, we spent the rest of our day in the camper and left early the next morning.
I would like to return at a time that ticks are not an issue.

Cozy little campsite. The site had direct lakeside access and the scenery was beautiful. There were showers advertised in the description but it appeared to be shut down while we were there. The outhouses at the campsite left a bit to be desired in terms of cleanliness, but that’s to be expected and won’t hold that against the park. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this campsite.

Cove lake is one of my favorite campsites to go to. AlwYs peaceful and a clear sky you can see stars for days. Perfect lake to go kayaking on. Highly recommend.
