What Guests Are Saying
Cove Lake Recreation Area is praised for its beautiful scenery, well-kept facilities, and friendly hosts, making it a highly enjoyable camping destination. Many visitors appreciate the quiet, secluded spots and the opportunity for outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking. However, some recent reviews noted issues with cleanliness in certain restroom facilities and the locking of shower facilities late in the season, which led to some disappointment.

Beautiful woodsy campground. Bring your fishing pole, canoe or kayak, and hammock. Clean outhouses. No showers though. One of the best dry camping locations we’ve been to.

Only reason it is 4 stars is because the campsite says dogs allowed, which they are for camping, but not swimming or near the swimming beach. Go but do not bring your dogs if you are tent camping. The lake looked beautiful, the shade was fabulous. Nice hike around the lake that actually goes through the campsite. Friendly attendant. No cell service for ATT but on T-Mobile/sprint I got one bar randomly, enough to check in for my flight the next day. Campsite A 7 was great

Beautiful, quiet location with well maintained grounds.
Be proactive against ticks though when you visit.
Will certainly be back.

Tried to modify reservations to a different weekend, 2 days in advance and app would not let me see what is in cart.

Cove Lake is beautiful. We love the view from our campsite overlooking the lake. The people that work there are always nice. The area is always tidy and we feel safe camping at Cove Lake

We camped there in January in our 26ft. self contained trailer. One other camper was there, just the way we like it. No water or services were available in winter. Hiked the trail around the lake clock wise. A little over 4 miles. At the end was a large tree blocking the trail. We had difficulty getting around it. We camp here several times a year. Winter is best for scenery and hiking.
