We arrived at Willow Beach traveling from the south. When we turned off the main highway to the entrance road we found it unplowed and icy. No place to turn around so we hoped for the best when we got to the park entrance. I had called a few times earlier in the day to check if the water was turned on and got no answer. No one was at the security gate and nowhere to turn around. We had a reservation, so attempted to navigate to our site. The roads and everything else were ice covered. We were able to pull in to our assigned spot with the hook ups on the opposite side. My wife exited the coach, took a couple of steps and did a Charlie Brown and hit her head on a tree. She was ok but that was the end to any additional outdoor activities. The next morning I went out to disconnect the towed vehicle and to see how we could possibly get turned around. A COE truck drove by, I flagged them down and asked why someone couldn’t have contacted me to let me know of these dangerous conditions. They just said that today is the fist time they were allowed to drive the department trucks in the park. It took awhile but somehow we made it out. Thankfully it was relatively flat grounds. We are always told to do this and that “Online” and hardly ever get the opportunity to talk with a human. Why didn’t anyone contact us “Online” and let us know about these hazardous conditions. I sent a similar message to customer service “online” and got a message back apologizing for my “inconvenience “ and that he or she was unable to give use a refund, which is something that I didn’t ask for. I just wanted an explanation as to why I was not made aware of this before being put in that unsafe position. I responded but never got anything back. To don’t expect to get any response from this either. It just seems to me the federal employees just don’t care as much as the private sector employees do.

Great campground. Nice and clean. We were there during duck hunting season. Lots of duck hunters out in the river. Lots of ducks coming in & flying out. Good bit of shooting at daylight, but it didn’t bother us. This campground is well worth staying at.

This is a beautiful, quiet park nestled between the Arkansas River and Willow Lake. Sites are spacious with a fire pit, bbq grill, and a covered picnic table. In the park there is a nice playground with padded ground cover, picnic areas, and a boat launch. There is plenty of wildlife. The sunsets over the river are unforgettable.
The campground is about 15 miles from the Little Rock area. It is close to the Toltec Mounds Archaeological State Park. Scotty Station Restaurant has great bbq ribs, fish, chicken, and burgers, etc.. We were there on a Friday night and there was live music.
We will definitely stay here again when in the Little Rock area.

Willow Beach COE Campground is a beautiful campground nestled between the Arkansas River and Willow Beach Lake. It is very peaceful, in a country setting, with plenty of wildlife (deer, birds, armadillo, etc.). Each site is large with paved parking, 30 and 50 amp, water, a covered picnic table, fire pit, and grill. The dump station is near the front of the park. The shower/restroom building was clean. We camped in a 40’ motorhome with a 16’ trailer and the site was plenty big to accommodate us. We enjoyed this campground so much we extended our stay from 7-12 days. We would definitely recommend this campground and we will be back again when we are in the Little Rock area.
