Overall our experience was decent. The campsites here are a very mixed bag. Our stay included two different sites. #72 which is spacious and well maintained, but doesn’t have its own water hookups. Plenty of shade and a covered table. Our second site, #116 was pretty terrible. This section of the park is once crowded and basically you’re camping on top of other campers and there’s no privacy or space to get away from others noise or lights-or camper water pump noises. I do not recommend 116. It’s mostly old asphalt and a super weird layout that bakes like a pizza stone during the day and radiates heat all night.

Horseshoe Bend Campground, Site 173. It is a great location for access to to Beaver Lake. Very old campsites on east side. Some site are very hard to access with RV/Trailers. Our site state max 30 ft. Our trailer was 25 ft. I'm not sure if we'd be able to get backed in if the other sites in the area was occupied. After the trailer was parked the camp area outside was covered with exposed tree roots. We did enjoy the area a great deal once we got settled in. Great for Kayaking and fishing.

Reserved a spot to tent camp. Arrived to find out it was an rv spot. The concrete pad for parking was the only flat spot, the rest was a hill. The restrooms were unsanitary. There was not a gate attendant. I tried to call the local number, which went to a voice-mail, telling me to call the 866 number. I talked to a representative. She said we could put our tent on the concrete, but if local park personnel came by, they could possibly ask us to move it. I called back and left a message, requesting a refund. We did not stay at the site.
