What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with clean facilities and a lovely location by Beaver Lake, perfect for outdoor activities like boating and hiking. Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites, helpful staff, and the amenities available, including a marina and restaurant. However, some campers noted issues with poorly marked trails, uneven sites, and maintenance concerns, particularly with exposed hazards and cleanliness. Overall, it remains a favored destination for many.

It a beautiful place but the ranger was unfriendly. We reserved 2 spots with one under my name and one under my mothers name. Upon arrival we realized I had flipped the names assigned to the spots because my mother required more level ground due to bad ankles. It didn’t matter that we had both spots reserved he required my mom to park her vehicle at the upper spot assigned to her name even though she was set up at the lower spot. Later we received a warning to take down our porta potty tents or receive a citation. We were using self contained bucket toilets with no spillage or leakage. I went to the entrance and spoke with a different person there and was told they want you to use their bathrooms which for the most part are disgusting pit toilets and the one flushable bathroom we visited had no soap or way to dry your hands. Their reasoning behind all this is that they don’t want you to contaminate the ground water despite the fact that all the wildlife in the area didn’t use the toilets either. We noticed several people around us going to the bathroom behind trees but because we attempted to be a little more sanitary we were threatened with a citation. Our campsite was also littered with hundreds of cigarette butts and other small items of garbage which we attempted to pick up a majority of the trash, but there was so much it was impossible for us to collect it all. We will not be going back to this campground again. Spend you money at a campground that is cleaner and friendlier.

Some of the sites are very difficult to back in to. Need leveling blocks for sure. It was quite and peaceful. Nice and shady

Lots of spots available, beautiful lake, clean campground. Booking the campground was annoying because pricing changed based upon the amps but the map never says what was what when it came to electrical. Also, showers were COLD and would only stay on for 5 seconds so you continually had to press the button.
