What Guests Are Saying
Crystal Springs offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with spacious sites and scenic views, especially near the lake. Many campers appreciate the cleanliness of the restrooms and the friendly ranger staff, as well as the various amenities like hiking trails and a playground. However, some guests noted maintenance issues, such as electrical problems and outdated facilities, which detracted slightly from their overall enjoyment.

Love Crystal Springs campground and Lake Ouachita. We’ve met a lot of people over the past 20 years of going to the park.

(1) Entrance gate was challenging enough to get to, once there, no campsite host or volunteers were available to ask for guidance—even when 2 of the camp host spots were clearly occupied by someone so there should be a camp host to entertain new arrivals
(2) While map was provided, or at least can take a photo of, it was hard to read where tent sites are. To make things worse, the tent sites were actually or seemingly situated outside the campground (or at least that’s how it appeared since there was a route from the campground to the tent site but there was a gate blocking access to it). The only way to access it is to drive out the campground again!
(3) Tent sites are hike in only but one of the sites was too far from the parking lot unlike the other one

Only about 17 miles from Hot Springs National Park! In addition, the park attendant informed us that this lake is the third cleanest lake in the entire US! We were at Site 19, with bathrooms and showers close. Water access was quite easy. Definitely a local favorite for boating, & they were quite respectful to us while kayaking.

Campground was beautiful, clean and quiet. Our site was #21 and was situated with the lake on three sides. We were very close to the bathrooms which we need since we tent camp. We had a great time.
