There were no vacancies at hot springs state park. Were first timers. We passed this one going in. We couldn't get good signal and do the reservation online it kept kicking us back so I got quiet frustrated. But when we got there the camp host (Roy I believe) said yeah we get that a lot go on in there and take this tag and find u a spot and some signal and reserve it and come baxk up or well be around to bring u a confirm tag. Later. Very friendly very understanding it was way before 3 pm.
We found the perfect spot for us and our little aussie dog. Bathrooms were clean and had good hot water. We explored around the cove found a little creek with some water still in it. The water was several feet low so we found a spot to walk down to the rocky shore skip rock and let our service dog do her jump swimming/pull in training. . She was still in a life jacket and leash. Water was a bit chilly but felt amazing
Views were great. The drop off because of the marina and the boat dock was pretty close to shore and pretty deep but u could pull ur boat up into the cove.. the swimming area was kinda muddy from the low water levels. And dogs can't swim over there anyway. So we made our own way
The tree coverage was amazing. We stayed cool and comfy the couple night we were there. We didn't make it down to the marina. But overall if we want a nice little quiet cove on the lake we'll pick this spot. It def hit our needs for the stay and might have stayed longer but we had another destination. Wasn't that far into hot springs. Lovely little camp ground. Everyone was SUPER friendly and loved our little fur baby.

This was the best little trip! My family of 5 stayed in a big tent for 3 nights. This spot is right on the water where you could park a boat or fish, and my kids even swam. My only complaint is that the tent "pad" is just rocks so it was very hard. I had a carpet for inside the tent but it made driving the pegs a bit of a challenge. Wish it had more shade also so make sure to bring your canopies. You can see the bathrooms from this spot. Bathrooms are clean. Beach area is great and not far also. It's a busy campground but everyone was respectful of the rules. It was a fantastic stay!

This was my first time at this campground, I’m from out of state and my husband and I were celebrating our four year anniversary, and we were blown away! The view was beautiful, the grounds were peaceful. We can’t wait to come back!

My husband, friend and I were back again for my birthday in August. And while I understand this is the prime time for boating and water activities I was a little disappointed with the lack of privacy we had at our spot with other guest walking through to their boats. Other than that we enjoyed the amazing view and the water was refreshing on the hot afternoons! Still definitely coming back!
