We love Crystal Springs. We try to camp at 42 or 43 because we can see grandkids in the swimming area.

This campground had some wonderful sites right along the lake. There is water and electricity service. The bathrooms are clean, although I was surprised that there was no sign of hand soap in the bathrooms. Cmon we just put a pandemic behind us and basic handwashing is important and seems like something that would be provided in any bathroom. The reason for the rating was that it was packed and with so many people there it was hard to feel connected to nature when surrounded by people.

We got the only site available for our dates and it was quite nice. This is very much a boaters' campground with many of the lakeside sites having boats pulled up to shore. There is a swim beach which we used with our grandson and maybe another dozen or more campers were either swimming or playing in the sand. There is a playground with equipment for toddlers and for bigger kids BUT it needed grass/weed trimmed badly - it was nice equipment in a neglected looking setting. We scoped out sites that we would either try to get or avoid if we come back. FYI the middle loop has no bathroom & has a short walk to either side loop if needed. Some of the sites have the RV pad & the picnic pad on different levels so you have to step up or down almost immediately next to your rig - just be aware as this could impact your camp set up like it did for us - whether that's setting up a sitting area under your awning, or using the built in outside kitchen, or setting up a fenced in dog area. Other than that there were plenty of very nice, shaded sites. We didn't find any trails. No camp shop or firewood for sale. Good cell service.
