The park was clean and quiet during our visit. Several times we saw police patrol the park which helped us feel safer. We have camped here a few times, and have no complaints about the facility or the staff.

First, let me say that the staff were very friendly. My husband and I booked here for labor day. The property is lush and full of shady areas. However, you cannot swim here. We knew that upfront so no problem. Unfortunately, there were tons of wasps in the picnic area by our tent. My husband wrestled with those for more than an hour but there were just too many and they were very aggressive. So, we just didn't use the picnic table. Also we thought there would be an electric hookup, which there was, but it was the wrong type of hookup. The staff was nice enough to allow us to move our tent to the camp area next door so that we could use the electrical hookup there. Sadly, this hookup was covered in a dirt divers nest. After we uncovered the nest, the hookup itself did not work. So, we then had to purchase a battery operated fan and a ton of mosquito repellent because the mosquitos were really bad too. The only place nearby that had the type of fan we needed was Tractor Supply nearly an hour away. We probably wouldn't return.

Merrisack is a beautiful place to visit if only they would do something about the Lilly Pads so people could fish off of the bank in section D

Great time at park. Saw a gator Friday late. It was hot but had a great time. Ac worked great in our new to us camper

We enjoyed our one night here. Visited Arkansas Post Monument on the way in. Great scenery of the lake from our site. Bathroom was fine. Was really quiet, weather was fantastic, being from New Zealand we loved watching the Amadillos. Haha.

Widely spaced campsites were great! There was a nice "nature trail" walking loop we found off the "E" loop. The signage to it within the park was lacking; we happened upon it while exploring the park. Very quiet park where we enjoyed bird watching. We camped on the D loop and appreciated the covered picnic tables. We chose this park for its remote location.

Beautiful and peaceful. Do make sure you have an extra water hose. The water taps are quite far away. Only a handful of campers there when we went. No gate keeper. There was a sheriff patrol driving around which was nice. Bathrooms clean. We did see a few alligators but they stayed away from the shore. Boat ramp and dock are great. Drive is long and nearest store is really in Gillette. For fishing and kicking back with the dogs, this was excellent. Thank you

Nice, level pads for RV/Camper trailer. Good bird watching and other wildlife such as alligators, deer, rabbits, squirrels, skinks, raccoons. I do suggest putting away any trash, food items, and covering griddles as the raccoons and opossums will visit. Also watch for fire ants and their mounds. And there's usually mosquitoes at dark and dusk, which is to be expected. If you're there in late May, early June.. enjoy the mayfly hatchings!

Getting There
From DeWitt, Arkansas, take US-165 south for 8.1 mi to State Route 44. Turn east for 5.3 mi and continue south onto Tichnor Blacktop Rd. After 10 mi, turn right onto Merrisach Lake Lane and continue into the park.
Highway access
Merrisach Lake is accessible via US-165, which is about 8.1 miles from DeWitt, Arkansas, and connects to State Route 44.

Arrival & departure
- The campground is open throughout the year.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Fires & fuel
- Firewood must be purchased locally and burned on-site to protect forests.
- Only wood and paper can be burned in fire rings, all other trash must be disposed of properly.
Wildlife & food storage
- Boats and trailers must be cleaned, drained, and dried to prevent invasive species.
- Feeding alligators is prohibited as they are native to the lake.
- All recreational equipment must be cleaned, drained, and dried, and waste must be disposed of properly.
- Prevent invasive species spread by cleaning gear, staying on trails, and properly disposing of waste.
Safety & rules
- Swimming, wading, and diving in the lake are prohibited.
Site capacity
- Campsites are limited to 2 tents or 1 camper and 1 tent.
