We have been camping at Merrisach for 40 years or more, usually during spring break when the kids are out for a week. There have been some good upgrades to the campgrounds - bath houses and some campsites. We were in section A (site 8). It was roomy but needs some upgrades (new pad for camper, some leveling of site (rain water collects behind camper pad) and removal of a tree or two). We did some bank fishing and caught several bream for supper. Arkansas Post is a good spot to go see for early US history. The best thing about Merrisach is being kind of in the "outback" and away from things. This is a farming area and there is a lot of Ag to see in the whole area. We are going back in April for a week. Bring your fire wood, an evening campfire is hard to beat. One big upgrade would be the addition of sewer hookups at each site.

Great Park! Very clean, well maintained and well managed by some great people. Especially the park attendant. Bathrooms/showers are very clean with hot showers anytime. Easy access but limited places to restock so best to bring all that you need before setting up. Still great hookups and plenty of space for each camper to enjoy the lake and nature. Definitely will be back!

The camp personnel were WONDERFUL and helpful.
The campground itself is remote but very nice.
It should be noted in the campsite notes that most of the camping spots in loops A, B and C have water faucets >50 feet from the site. Some look to be around 100 feet. A few sites also looked to have electrical boxes >50 feet from where the RV hookup would be. We were originally at a site where our 50 foot water hose wouldn't reach. The camp host did have some (don't know how many) extra hoses for campers to use.
