Spring Cove

Great campground we usually stay at Wishon But we liked this one also now :) . The Host was great help !

It was unfortunate that the dates I had our reservation there was no water in most of the bathrooms and water spouts. The only working one was near the entrance. Porta potties were available.

I stayed at Spring Cove Campground with my dog over the Fourth of July weekend. The campground host was very friendly and welcoming, and my campsite (#46) was spacious with plenty of room to spread out.
One thing that could definitely be improved is the signage. It was very difficult to navigate the campground, and it took me quite a while to find my campsite because the site directional numbers weren’t clearly marked.
Another downside was that the bear box wasn’t located at the campsite. It was across the road, which made it inconvenient to access food and supplies. I also expected the site to have more shade than it did. It was very warm, and there wasn’t much relief from the sun during the day.

The restrooms were clean throughout most of my stay, although they were locked on the morning I left, and I wasn’t sure why.
On the plus side, I have Verizon and had excellent cell service throughout the campground, which was a pleasant surprise.
I didn’t see any bears, which was a plus. Overall, the campground was much busier than I prefer, although I did visit over the Fourth of July weekend, so the crowds were to be expected. If you’re looking for a lively campground close to Bass Lake, this may be a good option. I enjoyed the time with my dog, but between the lack of shade, difficult navigation, and overall busyness, I probably wouldn’t return.

Site 67 had a very small area to the side of the parking spot only. All the areas behind was roped off, so no privacy.None of the areas were level to put even a small tent. Lumpy and sloping. The shower stopped working and would not restart no matter how many tokens I put in. Since all the other showers were full I had to rinse the conditioner out of my hair in the public dishwashing sink. I was not able to get my $10 back for the shower since the attendant was no longer at the station. Since there was no level place to put a tent, and I couldn’t level it because it was all grass, I just left. Did not stay to camp.

Great spot this year - secluded, minimal mosquitoes, great staff. No water pressure issues by the time we checked in and everything was great. Thanks!

Camp host was really sweet and helpful. Unfortunately, we went while they were some issues with the plumbing, but there were plenty of porta potties. Amazing access to the lake, definitely the best of the public campground spots - this was the least commercialized/quietest/most remote area of the lake, which we enjoyed. Sites vary in size - i would recommend checking satellite maps to make sure your spot is truly big enough for 6.

This is probably the best spot in the entire camping area. There’s no neighbors to the left or right or in front of you. You are totally in the back all by yourself. One downside is that there are mosquitoes everywhere.
