Last 5 years I've come to this campground with friends, and we always enjoy ourselves. I think the only thing we were surprised about was how the water tank that connects to the spigots/bathrooms was compromised, but we had no clue until we pulled up on the day. It would be helpful to be notified to plan ahead. Even a quick email would be great. It didn't make the trip miserable, but it certainly threw us off, and we had to buy additional water. That's it tho! We always love visiting there.

I've been camping at Plaskett Creek for over 10 years when the road is open, maybe 5 times. The camp continues to decline. Each time I camp there the bathrooms are closed, the camp roads have deteriorated, and the staircase to the beach becomes more and more dangerous to navigate.
But this time the water was posted as being outright dangerous! Do not drink, do not wash with it. Even though the spigot still worked?
As SOON as you know the water is bad, an email should be sent to all reservations to warn people to bring more water with them. I camped with a travel trailer, so I had some water with me. But others who were car camping were stuck. Any year now the staircase to the beach will collapse, and we will be told that Sand Dollar beach is closed, and it will take years to fix it. You make a lot of money from what are PUBLIC assets. You need to do better.

It’s a Beautiful campground and very close to Sand Dollar Beach.
Unfortunately there is no water and they have porta potties for bathrooms, which are gross.
The campground hosts are amazing and made us feel really welcomed.

We had a wonderful weekend in Big Sur. Plaskett is such a nice campground. We loved the camp hosts. They were really kind and informative. I would happily camp here again

Two things:
1) it’s time that people who make reservations and don’t show up and don’t cancel might have a consequence. There was capacity for quite a few more people on the nights we were there on 5/6 and 5/7, although the campgrounds were “full“.
2) the bathrooms are not open. They have clean porta potties, and there is no pump out station.

We had an amazing time at this campground last weekend! We stayed at site 34. The campsite itself was great. Clean, spacious, and in a perfect location close to the porta potties, which were surprisingly very clean and well maintained. The camp hosts were super friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe around the campground was awesome. It felt relaxing, safe, and family/dog friendly. We also loved how convenient the location was for exploring the area. Our dog had a blast too! Definitely one of our favorite camping trips and we would absolutely come back again.

There was no portable water/ flush toilet available. camper had to drive to near faire station to get water. Yet, camping site cost was not adjusted to lowered level of facility.

When I arrived, the host was off duty and it said to visit relief host for check in but I didn't see any info about where the relief host would be. He ended up approaching me and saying hello then providing my parking pass. Site 16's tree has been destroyed so there's no shade but there was also no sun so it's all good. sunset was beautiful, visible from those first sites near the entrance. That short walk to the beach is just so amazing!! I loved this place so much last year I was okay with only a 1-night stay to just enjoy that sweet ocean access. They had tons of porter-pottys so using the bathroom was no problem. Bring water because they had no potable water.
