What Guests Are Saying
Plaskett Creek Campground offers a beautiful, peaceful setting just a short walk from Sand Dollar Beach, making it a great spot for camping. Many visitors praised the friendly camp hosts and the spacious, scenic environment, ideal for families and pets. However, the campground faces criticism due to the lack of potable water and restroom facilities, with porta potties being the only option, which some found unsatisfactory.

Very nice campground - appreciated the paved driveway at each site! Didn’t feel like sites were on top of each other - lots of neighbors but not too close. Two bathroom buildings with flush toilets, so every site is reasonably close. The hosts were present and attentive - saw them cleaning, picking up trash, and helping sort out situations with different parties. Running water is currently contaminated, so bring plenty or expect to boil what you need. Sand Dollar Beach and Jade Cove (at least, the bluffs above) are within reasonable walking distance. The campground itself has some nice shade (though several trees have hanging branches that could use some attention.)

overall good experience, clean restrooms and attentive staff. The trees need to be better maintained, several tree limbs looked like they could fall

Molly the camp host is always friendly and helpful every time we are at Plaskett Creek. Too bad she is moving on to Oregon in May. Restrooms were clean like always. The only real problem that I have observed in the campground is the tree branches hanging down low in several sites. A 50 foot space is going to have trailers and motorhomes backing into them. But some branches are only 8 feet off the ground. The FOREST SERVICE NEEDS TO ADRESS THIS BIG PROBLEM. Luckily my trailer was not damaged this time, even though branches hung up on my rooftop AC unit. Central Big Sur is a great area.

it was pretty cold but the area is super shaded so can see that it would be the perfect camp spot during the hotter summer weather. bathrooms were clean which was a plus! running water unfortunately had traces of ecoli due to the rainfall so do bring lots of water or expect to boil it before usage.
hosts were extremely nice and helpful!

Beautiful, peaceful campsite! I loved the proximity to some of the most beautiful sections of Big Sur. The bathrooms were very clean but the sinks were blocked off due to E.coli in the water, so plan to bring enough clean water for drinking, cooking, hand-washing, and dish cleaning. I would also recommend bringing your own firewood to avoid spending $15 buying from the camp host. Site 013 is against the mountainside, so it was a bit more quiet and private than the campsites in the middle. It was not a huge issue, but the picnic table on the site is on a slope so just be cautious with items rolling off the table. I will definitely be back to Plaskett Creek in the future!
