What Guests Are Saying
Plaskett Creek Campground offers a beautiful, peaceful setting just a short walk from Sand Dollar Beach, making it a great spot for camping. Many visitors praised the friendly camp hosts and the spacious, scenic environment, ideal for families and pets. However, the campground faces criticism due to the lack of potable water and restroom facilities, with porta potties being the only option, which some found unsatisfactory.

When I arrived, the host was off duty and it said to visit relief host for check in but I didn't see any info about where the relief host would be. He ended up approaching me and saying hello then providing my parking pass. Site 16's tree has been destroyed so there's no shade but there was also no sun so it's all good. sunset was beautiful, visible from those first sites near the entrance. That short walk to the beach is just so amazing!! I loved this place so much last year I was okay with only a 1-night stay to just enjoy that sweet ocean access. They had tons of porter-pottys so using the bathroom was no problem. Bring water because they had no potable water.

The grounds are clean and spacious. There are beautiful nature and neat sites to explore. However it’s the hosts who made this stay amazing! They were gracious and friendly when we woke them up at 11 o’clock at night due to being locked out of the car while still setting up camp. These are amazing people who care about the work they do!

The campsite is prone to water shortages!
Portable potties will be used.

The location of this camp site is EPIC: right in Big Sur without cell phone service across the street from a great surfing beach. My little boys loved collecting shells and sand dollars. I loved this campsite.

The only reason I didn’t rate the campground excellent was they didn’t have any potable water. Everything else was great. Our site was good the camp hosts were very friendly and explained a lot about the area. Would definitely come back.
