Summary

Plaskett Creek Campground offers a beautiful, peaceful setting just a short walk from Sand Dollar Beach, making it a great spot for camping. Many visitors praised the friendly camp hosts and the spacious, scenic environment, ideal for families and pets. However, the campground faces criticism due to the lack of potable water and restroom facilities, with porta potties being the only option, which some found unsatisfactory.

We stayed at site #35 which is a very beautiful and big space. Even though there is a slight slope, we managed to find flat surface for our 2 tents. Overall beautiful campground at beautiful location. Will visit again. Note: please get your own firewood if possible. It is a bit expensive here.

A lot of the spaces are tight, and the campground could be updated, but still beautiful, with great sight lines, and a real relaxed vibe.

We spent 2 nights in site #039. The park was easy to find, even at night (JUST MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE MAP BEFORE YOU LEAVE SANTA CRUZ AREA (if heading south) BECAUSE THERE'S ZERO RECEPTION!). Pavement all the way around the park (some repairs needed, but nothing inadequate for our truck with truck camper. Good signage, so was easy to find our location...all except the bathroom. Pulling in at night (was pitch-black) and walked all over looking for the bathroom that was right by our campsite! 😜🤷‍♀️. Efficient check in and out, and camp host basically helpful although didn't see until needed to buy the $15 small bundle of wood. Apparently he sells water also, but we had plenty. The campground is very scenic ... gorgeous, huge trees everywhere!

No water in the restrooms so plan accordingly.
Great listening to the sound of the waves! My kids loved playing on that tree in the middle of the grass. Important to note that to get to the beach, you have to go down a staircase of 80-100(?) steps to get to the gorgeous beach! Or we just explored above on top of the cliffs.

While $35/night is pretty standard, especially for Big Sur, I do think the lack of available water warranted a slightly cheaper price...but is Big Sur! Other campgrounds have zero water, so there's that...
