What Guests Are Saying
Dark Day Campground is praised for its beautiful, tree-filled setting and cleanliness, with plenty of firewood available. While the steep terrain can make camping setup challenging, many enjoy the decent fishing and swimming opportunities. However, some visitors reported issues with noise from large groups, weak cell service, and a lack of onsite supervision, which detracted from the experience for some campers.

Pretty campground with lots of trees. Not your typical car camping though since it’s a several minute downhill hike from parking to the campsites.
There is no camp host onsite or in nearby park facilities and cell service is very weak. A large group held half the sites when I was there in September ‘25 with my youngsters. During the day the group let their dogs run wild throughout the campground and each night they held parties past midnight with loud music, bright lights, and occasional drunken fist fights among their own guests.

I got there on a Saturday and people were in the campsite so I didn’t get to stay overnight. The place itself is gorgeous

Going to the water to swim is great even if you don't have a boat.
