What Guests Are Saying
Dark Day Campground is praised for its beautiful, tree-filled setting and cleanliness, with plenty of firewood available. While the steep terrain can make camping setup challenging, many enjoy the decent fishing and swimming opportunities. However, some visitors reported issues with noise from large groups, weak cell service, and a lack of onsite supervision, which detracted from the experience for some campers.

Great camp site. Lots of shade. Bathrooms are serviced daily. We we’re in the lake everyday on our boat and just for swimming. Located on no wake zone so it was great. Close to trails for walking.

**PARKING IS NOT AT CAMPSITE** Something I wish I knew before I reserved. We were at site 10A and the parking was uphill and not close to the site. Very inconvenient to carry multiple loads of stuff up and down to the site. Also, there was no good way to get to your site without walking right through someone elses site. Lots of mosquitos we got bit multiple times just within the first 30 minutes. NO CAMP HOST, no place to buy firewood at the campsite. The area around the site is nice to explore but I would not stay here again

If I were to stay here again I would want to stay at site 10A! That site was the most remote and closest to the water, and if you walked down the path to the lake there was a sweet little fire ring overlooking the lake that would have been the perfect spot for morning coffee.
Site 7 was decent, perfect fire ring with a grate for cooking and good flat spot for a tent. The car parking is about 20 yards from the site so you need to be able to pick everything up out of your car and walk it down the hill to the site.
The beach near the campsite at this time of year was a bit hilly but not super far away, and was a nice little cove to hang out for the day. HIGHLY recommend bringing a donut floaty to sit in the water.
Overall you get a great value at this campground in terms of proximity to water, facilities, clean bathrooms, and potable water on site. The only reason this site didn't get 5 stars is because there were 2 groups of people blasting music until 1am, and starting again at 8am. There weren't any rangers around or site rules posted so that would be a huge improvement to make it clear to campers what "respectful" camping looks like. I really hope anyone reading this considers the experience of other campers when you are staying at a large campsite like this one! Not trying to be a karen but when I go out into nature, I like to hear nature. Call me crazy.
