Campground is well maintained and tucked away - amazing waterfall just down from the last campsite + free flowing spring water - this place is amazing.

My friends and I loved our experience at this campground! We stayed at sites 1 & 3. It was so relaxing to hang out and sleep to the sounds of the river right behind us. Site 1 had a storage area to hold all our food and cleaning supplies, which was extremely helpful. There was some rain while we were there, but because the campground is mostly flat, our tents weren't that affected.

We love this campground but our most recent experience started off with an unfortunate encounter with individuals who decided to squat on our site even thought our names were clearly indicated on the reservation placard. We had to come the next morning instead of the evening of our original check-in date. When we arrived there were 4 individuals fully setup in our site and refused to move. Their argument was that the camping rules in the board at the entrance of the campground said “you must occupy your campsite on the first night.” Even though it clearly states on the recreation.gov website that you have until the following day of your original check-in date to arrive to your campsite. These individuals said that this is something they do all the time. We have never had this happen to us and have camped all over California. It’s unfortunate that there wasn’t a camp host and due to the federal shutdown there were no rangers to help us resolve this. Thankfully a very generous family had an extra site and let us stay there for the night.

Great camping spot in the middle of the woods and by the river. Great escape.

Beautiful campground! In the early autumn, on a Sunday night, we shared the entire campground with only three other camping groups. Spring water from a pipe tasted amazing. A lovely, peaceful getaway.

Would have nice to have a camp host to buy firewood after Labor Day.

This is a beautiful location, set right along the North Fork of the North Fork of the American River. The access road is a bit narrow in places, but there are passing spots, and we had no trouble getting in with our trailer. The campsites themselves are spacious with plenty of shade. The only downside was the loud music. We camp to enjoy nature, and our trip was spoiled by people playing heavy, thumping music. While there are rules about quiet hours at night, I wish people would also keep their music at a level that can’t be heard outside their own campsite during the day.
