What Guests Are Saying
Convict Lake Campground offers a stunning location with beautiful views, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, making it an ideal spot for both short stopovers and extended stays. The campground is well-maintained, with daily bathroom cleaning and convenient amenities like firewood sales and a nearby store. However, many sites lack shade and privacy, and bear encounters can be an issue, particularly for campers with food safety concerns. Overall, visitors appreciate the serene environment and recreational opportunities available in this picturesque area.

Amazing, doesn’t feel real to even be here. This site 4 background is convict lake mountain. We saw sunrise and sunset every day from our campsite completely every day.

The two campsite we reserved was clean and taken care of. I would definitely come back to the same campsites in the future. Wish the lake wasn’t so popular and hard to find parking around the lake.

I started camping at convict lake over 40 years ago. Was great. Stop the people from swimming in the stream. It is destroying it and ruins the fishing. Keep confined to a small area of the lake!

The campsite was very exposed with zero shade. Also, a very persistent bear visited our site every night and slobbered all over my car door handles and windows each night. The campground host said the same bear broke into and destroyed at least two cars while we were there.
Great lake access though and good views.

This place is horrible. The bears are out of control and nobody does anything. The bears are not scared of people and have been there for over a year. 400 pound bear had us trapped inside our tent trailer for three hours.

Really beautiful lake. Great hiking, kayaking, and fishing. Can get very busy and parking can be challenging. Campground very nice and well maintained. Our site #83 was good. A bit tight for a 30' 5th wheel & truck. The pad was uneven and broken up toward the back. The hosts were very good. The women's bathroom door (near our site) would occasionally not latch. Hosts aware but having trouble getting it replaced. Resort store can have things you need. We will definitely returned after summer (while school's out) rush. We scoped out other campsites that will be better for our rig.
