Dogwood Campground is consistently praised for its cleanliness, beautiful natural surroundings, and well-maintained facilities, including flush toilets and hot showers. Campers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the serene and private atmosphere provided by spacious campsites nestled among trees. While some visitors noted minor inconveniences, such as the price increase for firewood and challenges with tent placement, the overall experience remains highly rated, making it a popular choice for families and repeat visitors.

Campsite #76: not the most private option, as it sits slightly elevated above the campground road and is in full view of passing cars and campers. That said, it's conveniently located -- right next to a potable water spigot and within a short walking distance to two restrooms on either side.
As others note, the site is on a slope. We didn't find it too troublesome, though I did find myself having slid down my sleeping mat by a few inches throughout the night. There are tent spots that say mostly shaded throughout the day, but the picnic bench receives direct sunlight from late morning until around 6:30PM. The fire ring is shaded a bit earlier, around 5PM, but don't count on enjoying a shaded dinner at the picnic table until the sun dips lower in the evening. (for reference, we stayed here in early July)
#74 next door is significantly larger and sits right beside a restroom, making it a popular spot for families and larger groups. During our stay, there were two different large groups occupying that site -- so be prepared for higher chance of some noise and activity from your neighbors. Overall, I think #76 is better suited as an auxiliary site to #74 for a large combined group, rather than a standalone option for smaller parties.
Campsite #40: offers much more privacy. Tucked between large trees and hedges, it feels nicely secluded - and with a bit of strategic parking at the spur, you can fully screen the site from view of the campground road. Water spigot is close by but route to bathrooms is more circuitous. If you're part of a larger group with multiple tents, keep in mind that only one will benefit from some shade during the day - the more spacious tent area is fully exposed to the sun for much of the day. The picnic table is largely shaded. Great campsite for smaller parties.
Overall - attentive staff, clean facilities. Some road noise audible from hwy. As with many campgrounds, your enjoyment can be a bit of a gamble depending on neighbors.

Very nice and well ran family campground in a wonderful location. We will revisit this place another time. Just be aware of sloped sites while tent camping.
