Most sites are well-maintained with amenities like fire pits, bear boxes, and access to nearby recreational activities. However, there are some management issues, including inaccurate site pictures and limited restroom facilities, which can be a concern during busy times. Spot was advertised as a ride in and out for OHVs and it absolutely was not, as we had to load our bikes and drive 25 minutes to a spot to ride. The bathrooms were so swarmed with flies that people were using the bathroom on the ground outside. There was absolutely no shade up by the camp spots. The last two nights we were there people came and set up their camps, made noise ALL night, literally offered us crack and stayed for free with nobody ever saying a thing to them. Definitely won’t be back and would not recommend.

Nice spot along the river, not much privacy due to large infield area between sites.

This is a no frills campsite. Very bare and rugged with the exception of the vault toilets. The spaces along the Little Truckee River are very small and cramped as well as rocky. There are only two sites that have easy access to the river but I wouldn’t consider this a swim spot as the river runs very quickly.

They vastly improved the campground during the COVID shut down. Ample bear lockers and defined camp sites. Staff, as always, are friendly and helpful. Location gives you easy access to fish the Little Truckee.
