What Guests Are Saying
Coyote Group offers a beautiful and scenic campground with ample space for large groups, clean facilities, and convenient access to the reservoir. Families enjoyed the fun lake activities for kids, though it can get quite cold at night, so warm clothing is recommended. Overall, it's highly regarded as an ideal spot for annual camping trips, with well-maintained amenities and clear signage.

The site was very beautiful and the lake was a great fun for kids. The night was very cold on July 4th weekend, make sure you bring warm clothes and bedding

One of the best group campgrounds I’ve ever been to. There was plenty of room for 27 people,11 cars, and one trailer. The bathrooms were clean and someone came by to empty all of the trashes and clean/restock the bathrooms every morning. The site was walking distance to the reservoir. The signage was clear getting to the site and there were plenty of benches and shade throughout the day.

The campground was beautiful and easy to access. Would do annual camping trip there if we could get reservation.

The campsite itself was is good order. Unfortunately, it’s quite buggy and worse the nearby campers were pretty inconsiderate and loud well into the night. In fact around midnight more campers rolled into our campsite and took an empty spot (we had paid and reserved for friends who couldn’t come last minute) and ended up loudly drinking, playing music and shouting well past 2am. They ruined the camp toilet and just the entire experience makes me think the sites are abused by people rolling through. Don’t recommend.

Stayed at Little Wolf group site with a group of 20 during the first week of June. It was our groups first time at this campground and group site and we were amazed by the grounds and all of the amenities included. The grounds are immaculate, the fire pit ring has benches around it and we were able to sit our entire group (no need to lug your chair over), there's plenty of communal tables, 6 large bear boxes, locked trash and recycling bins, and our own mens/womens bathroom for just the group site. The camp host/ranger came to our site every day to refresh our bathrooms with toilet paper and to remove trash/recycle from the bins. It is quite a drive in, taking over an hour from Foresthill into French Meadows without any cell service and on a winding road that has few guard rails in the Tahoe National Forest. I highly suggest driving in during day time and with a group, if you're able to. It's definitely an area that you should stay at for more than one day, to make the drive in and out worthwhile.

Wonderful and spacious campground. Far from other campers and private restrooms.

The campsite was huge. The restroom was kept clean. The trash never got too full. The area is beautiful. Lots of areas to explore and have fun. We had a wonderful time.
