This was our first time at this campground and we were pleasantly surprised. We booked sites 22 & 23 to share as multiple families with small kids and it worked out perfectly. The bathroom was close, clean & didn't smell. The campground was recently remodeled and it looks great. My only actual complaint is that there is no direct beach access without feeling like you have to walk through someone else's campsite to get there. I would have preferred a small dedicated foot trail. During our stay everyone seemed to be within the same general area and we were all using the same restrooms. At one point they ran out of toilet paper completely. I sought out the host but they were not on site and left no clear indication of when they'd return. The toilet paper was stocked the following day, so for one day everyone just had to walk to further buildings but it wasn't so inconvenient it ruined the experience for us or anything. The water was beautiful and quiet. We could easily enjoy some water toys with small children and didn't have to worry about the chaos. Highly recommend.

The campground is in excellent condition. Each campsite was spotless as were the restroom facilities. Water availability was plentiful. Beautiful views of the lake through the trees. Never did see a campground host but the campground was quiet. Would have liked to have had a dump station. But overall the place was great!

We stayed at site #47, which we found to be one of the best spots on this side of the campground. The lake sits right beside the site, making it effortless to carry down kayaks or other water gear. That said, the prime location means plenty of other campers pass by on their way to the water, which can occasionally feel noisy or startle you.
The campsite itself is nicely renovated, though it lacks showers and features only vault toilets. Potable water is available within a short walk. Overall, it’s a convenient and scenic choice if you don’t mind the foot traffic.

French Meadows is always a great campground. Second time here. Different campsite each time. Lots of trees, easy lake access. Well maintained bathrooms. No cell service, which is ideal. Come prepared because the drive to Forest Hill takes about an hour each way. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful and newly renovated campground! Hosts are super nice and helpful. The road to get there, going up from the south of the campground (Ice House Road), is full of huge potholes. Either way you get there, its a long drive so be aware of that. We had a great experience!

This campground was a very nice and clean campground. The newly renovated campground turned out to be very nice. The site we stayed at was very large. We had no problem setting up our 29ft. trailer. Access directly to French Meadows Reservoir is very limited from the campground. There is a day use area close by. There was no cell service. The dump station is about a mile from the campground. There are no water spigots capable of connecting a water hose to fill water tanks. Bring your water cans and funnel/pump to fill your tank.

Place is beautiful and the amenities are practically brand new. We needed to collect wood around the campground area because the host didn't have any to sell. Absolutely no cell phone service so consider bringing walkie talkies.
