The campsites were clean and (mostly) quiet. I was hoping to get in some more fishing, but the reservoir was very low.

Our plot backed right into the lake and felt super secluded. It was a quick 4 minute walk down hill to get down to the water! Both the sunrise and the sunset were amazing. The water was also the perfect temperature to swim when we went in August. Great place to just hang out by the lake! Since it is so far off the beaten path, there's relatively little foot traffic by people that aren't staying at the site. My family will definitely come back time and time again. The only downside is that its pretty far from any stores so make sure to bring ALL your wood and food with you! Other than that, this place is a dream.

We reserved 2 campsites at French Meadows on labor day weekend and had a group of about 10. The campsites are large and spread out. The lake is nice, if a little rocky on the shore. We brought the dogs, swam, hiked around and went stargazing.
The only thing to be aware of is that the road in is very windy and it takes about an hour and a half to drive the 40 mi from Forest Hill. Also we had no cell service (TMobile) which was perfect to get away and disconnect.
Overall we will be back for sure.

Beautiful reservoir. Nice campground. We had a bear visit us in the night but only tipped over a heavy concrete garbage can. The host was right on it scaring him away. I will definitely be gong back. Long windy but beautiful drive.
Don't miss out on Hell Hole reservoir a few miles away. No access unless you have a boat. Another beautiful reservoir.
