Giant Gap is a well-maintained campground with clean restrooms and campsites, providing a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful scenery near the lake. Many guests appreciate the cleanliness and upkeep, along with the enjoyable lake activities and hiking trails. However, some concerns include occasional restroom odors, limited shade due to tree removal, and the absence of a camp host at night, which can impact safety and noise management. The most recent photo doesn't show what it actually looks like there.
When we got there, someone else had taken over our spot. They stated the camp host told them it wasn't reserved. So we had to wait even longer for it to be resolved. There's bees everywhere so that was unfortunate to my son who is highly allergic.

Peaceful, a lot of families. Bathroom had toilet paper, no problems with the dumpster being full.

It was a very nice campsite. Only issue is I have is some park official decided to lock the restroom near my campsite for the season even though the season wasn't done. I specifically chose this sight because it was near the restroom for my disabled sister to not have to walk far.

Don't go there if you have a trailer. The road from Colfax turns to a one car road, hairpin turns, and very steep. recreation.gov should not encourage and should not allow trailers into this camp site. Too dangerous.

The camp hosts never came around and the toilets were out of TP the entire time we were there. The site was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. I have camped her for over 30 years and love the lake. I wish they'd clear the felled trees from the shore from the fire last year.

Campground was nice. The camp host was MIA and no firewood so campers had to scavenge for wood to burn to keep warm and nobody there to police guests. Very dangerous if there was an emergency as there is no cell service either. Bathrooms okay but was running out of toilet paper towards the end of the weekend due to, again, no camp host.
