The primitive section doesn't have flush toilet. Other than that,it's a very nice campground.

Great park and beautiful trails to the gorge but the staff were extremely rude and nitpicking. We arrived at 1:30pm and drove into the campsite but they made us leave because check in was at 2pm and we couldn't use a propane stove without getting a permit, which I have never seen before. The campsites are also pretty close together so if you want privacy you won't get it here. The lakes were also dried out, which was a bummer. Just a heads up!

I had planned for a camp fire and bbq. I found out the day we arrived to check in that we cannot due to the fire alert we are currently on so I decided to cancel. They told me to cancel online or call. Well there are no options to cancel online! So I called, after holding for 30 minutes they answered and accepted my cancellation. TO THIS DAY I have not received my refund that they said would be refunded back to me. The area is beautiful but they are strict on their check in time which is understanding but the employees were rude told me to drive back to town or pay for a day pass. I'm glad I didn't camp in addition they told me they lock up the bathrooms at 6pm which sounds like a ridiculous rule recently implemented. YEARS ago I had camped here and the experience was amazing from the employees to the cleans bathrooms and clean campsites.

We camped here over Labor day 2021. NFS contracted maintenance to a private company more concerned with our dogs being on leash than with our safety! We ran out of water on a long hike, looking tired and red faced, and the host employees we more concerned with us being near the "employee only" area (where the trail deposited us) and our dogs sacked out on the side not being on leash, than with our well being! The Forrest service employee who came by gave us water and Gatorade because he could tell we needed it, but the employees for the host company just reminded us of rules! The campground was also very spread out and we had to drive to the swimming areas. Overall, very disappointing and we won't be back!

I was booked for 2 nights and was only able to stay one night.:( we were evacuated by the sheriffs and cal fire. They told us there was a wild fire near and to be out asap.

The camp hosts were very nice and attentive, unfortunately the facilities were in pretty rough shape, two of the four bathrooms in our part of the campsite were out of commission and there was no potable water at the campsite. For $30/night I at least hope to not have to wait in line for the bathroom. Also, both times I have camped here people have not observed the ‘quiet hours’ with some camps parting late into the night and other camps making tons of nose at 6am with generators and music.

didn't like that our camping site wasn't clean, the BBQ grill was full of charcoal. also, the restrooms had no toilet paper, no hand soap, and the hand dryer was out of order

great campground. the river is so close by and kids love to play in it. please note that if you want to park your car not in the campground but in the day-use area, you need to get a pass for the day. It's $10 per day and usually solds out quickly over the weekends. Also, there is a beautiful hike in the gorge. But this is not suitable for small children as it's too long. Also can be very hot during summer days when it's sunny. So bring lots of water.
