What Guests Are Saying
Arroyo Seco Campground boasts a beautiful location ideal for birdwatching and hiking, with clean facilities and friendly hosts enhancing the experience. While the campground can get busy and noisy, especially on weekends, many guests appreciate the vibrant atmosphere and access to nature. However, larger RVs may find navigating the access roads challenging, and some facilities require maintenance, but overall, visitors enjoyed their stays and expressed a desire to return.

Nice campground. The camp host was a little intense and frigid with us...very "by the book" and inflexible (we arrived 5 minutes before check in and received a lecture and a "I'll make an exception THIS time, but in the future..." as well as lectures on several other very minor things despite other campers "getting away" with breaking more significant rules such as making lots of noise until very late, dogs barking non stop, etc.). Also, the camp host and the kiosk parks employee need to collaborate better. They gave conflicting information and ended up over charging us for extra vehicles. The person at the kiosk was going by what the camp host told her over the radio, and not by what the camper checking in was attempting to explain to her. But despite the intense and argumentative camp host, the experience was pleasant.

We loved the logs and rocks by our firepit to sit on (site 37) and the trail that went across the horse bridge and further on to several creek crossings. Site also had some plants between us and the sites on either side which was good for privacy. Just wish there was a sink for washing dishes. Compost toilet was not that bad. Couldn’t smell it from our site.

Clean campground. But I could not park my 25' RV because of the branches hanging over. Also, Table and fire pit left side of the site, opposite side of the RV Door. I turn the RV back to the front of the site so that the RV door faces the Table. They did not like it.

A really nice forested campground. We love camping at campgrounds like Arroyo Seco and it did not disappoint. We visited with our 35' 5th wheel and if not comfortable in tight spaces with your rig, you may want to rethink your visit. It took a little work to get the trailer backed into our site (No. 26) and we were able to level when we did. The only real problem for us was when leaving the trees scraped the front and roof of the trailer pretty hard. This was unavoidable. I hope the folks responsible will see this and trim the trees in the park as we'd love to return, but we won't due to the potential damage to our trailer.

The website has problems. We tried to reserve site 38 for 2 nights, Thurs and Fri. However, the site showed that this site was only "First come first served" on weekends so we reserved it for Thursday, expecting we would be first to claim the site on Friday. However, when we checked in we were told that someone else had already reserved the site for Friday night.
Otherwise, the place was really wonderful, especially the gorge.

Very unorganized and many campers did not get the same privileges as others.

We had a great time at this campground. We've been here before too. We stayed in # 29 this past time and was great. Saw a lot of wild life in the morning and at night as the cross the area to go down to the water. This spot is on the end so the animals know where to cross. The restrooms were super clean (Moe & Jo) did a great job keeping it clean and sanitized. No soap so just be prepared they don't supply... I always bring my own TP as 0.35 ply isn't for me. No cell signal (t-mobile) so I was happy without any notifications/calls. I'd recommend the loop of the two trails; they are narrow and lots of elevation gain but a great time.

Beautiful place, quiet, with decent facilities. Be careful on the hiking trails. The maps aren't that clear and there are small false trails that can be dangerous.

It’s a *very* popular campground. Weekends and holidays will be a bit noisy.
Midweek, it cannot be beat. Wonderful Oak trees and Woodpeckers.
Clean restrooms! Great Staff too.
