What Guests Are Saying

Ribbonwood Equestrian Campground offers a beautiful and serene environment, ideal for wildlife enthusiasts. However, there are significant cleanliness issues, including unkempt toilets and overflowing trash, along with poor maintenance of the grounds. The gate was locked. There was no combination code on any of the emails. No one answered the phone numbers on the reservation. We were literally stranded with no one to go after a 3 hour drive. My daughter was able to get ahold of someone at Recreation.gov who said he thought the campground was closed for the winter.. Very confusing that we could book and pay for a reservation at a closed campground. I would give negative starts if that was an option.

I love this site. It's quiet and serene, and perfect for watching animal life, from quails to rabbits, to roadrunners.

Found 6 baby rats in toilet, there was rat poop everywhere on toilet, sink and floor. Trash cans were all full all around campground and even containers for horse manure where full of trash. The round had deep potholes and the parking for the trailer in campsite was overgrown and scratched side of trailer. Looked like nobody had checked on campground in weeks even though we had reservations I would expect someone to make sure it was ready. We have camped here for years and this was the worst

The camp site was fine but we had a couple problems. The first was strangers driving into the property we rented out so we kicked them out, and the other was that we had no running water so we couldn’t shower and the toilets wouldn’t flush.

The amenities at this horse camp are fantastic, hot showers and potable water! We were the only ones there the entire time we stayed, so it was rather quiet. Unfortunately none of the garbage or manure bins had been emptied in...weeks or months, and they were all full of manure and garbage. The sites are nice, but vegetation has grown in and will scrap the sides of your truck and camper even if you are very careful. Lastly, there really aren't that many riding options from camp. Cactus springs is very technical and I had to turn around. Sawmill is just an out and back on an old road and is super blown out and rocky. The ribbonwood trail was nice, but really more made for mountain biking it seems. Overall it was a decent experience but the camp needs maintenance, tree trimming, garbage removal etc and the trail selection for horses isn't extensive.

The bushes need to be cut back. They bent 2 people's fenders on the horses trailers trying to get into a space and driving the circle to get out. The big green trash cans were full. The ranger super nice.

Need to post trail maps. Luckily we ran into a local that told us were the waterfall was.
